Next, journey to Ubud Royal Palace (Puri Saren Ubud) and gaze in wonder at one of the area’s most prominent monuments. Constructed in a traditional Balinese style, the palace was built during the reign of Ida Tjokorda Putu Kandel (1800-1823) and has been well preserved by his heirs. Marvel at the beautiful gardens and the banyan tree that provides shelter from the heat. Continue to Sacred Monkey Forest and discover the home of around 200 monkeys in the forest of Ubud. Believed by the locals to be “God’s Guard of the Dalem Agung Temple,” the long-tailed macaques dwell in certain areas and can often be seen on the roads.  Complete your tour at Tanah Lot Temple, known for its enchanting seaside setting and as a place to see the sunset at the end of the day.
